Obama on Darfur

Just like the rest of them,Obama wants us out of Iraq, but into Darfur.

Historian Niall Ferguson, whose most recent book is The War of the World and who is currently the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History at Harvard, takes Senator Obama to task for introducing the “The Iraq War De-escalation Act,” which would mandate “a phased redeployment of US forces with the goal of removing all US combat forces from Iraq by March 31, 2008,” while also accusing the Bush administration of doing too little to stop the murderous policies of the Sudanese government towards the people of Darfur.

Civil war in Iraq (where we have a strategic interest)- unwinnable. We need to be out of there, then all the people will get along again.

Civil was in Sudan (where we have little interest) – helpful for us to be there.

And 2+2=6.5

More Resolutions

I didn’t realize the Democrats had SO much to do when they gained the majority.
Apparently they have yet another non-binding resolution to vote on.

Only this one isn’t to tell the President that he has no support as Commander in Chief.

No, this one is to tell the Japanese Government that they need to apologize for history. See……busy, busy, busy.

The resolution calls on Japan’s prime minister to “formally acknowledge, apologise and accept historical responsibility” for the comfort women. (during WWII)

If I wasn’t so relieved that this use of time keeps Congress from actually doing anything, I would be cranky.
