Word of the Day

UPDATE: (bumped to the top – because you’ll want to know!) Surgery is over and even though results of the biopsy won’t be back until next week the surgeon thought things looked benign! What a great “Word of the Day”! Thank you all for your kind words/thoughts!

Today’s word of the Day is ‘Benign’.

I know I am the luckiest person in the universe. I have a great family/friends/circumstances. Health is good, family’s health is good, friends’ health is good. Money is fine, job is steady, even the weather is great.
Today my dog Merlin goes in to have a liver biopsy.
(I told you money was fine!)

So think ‘benign’ – because he’s the best dog in the universe. (ok – other than yours (in your twisted universe)…whatever) So even though I get all the breaks and it probably isn’t fair, – this one is for him.

If terrorists don’t want to spend their lives at Gitmo, they have a clear option — stop being terrorists, or at least be smart enough not to get caught. Those who plot against civilians and our troops while violating the Geneva Convention requirements on wearing uniforms and avoiding civilian casualties do not deserve any other considerations than a military tribunal and the rest of their lives to regret their poor decisions.

Powerline on those Syrian (or shall we call them Israeli?) airstrikes.

Last week’s strike by Israeli aircraft against a site in northern Syria has been a bit of a mystery. Possible explanations are now emerging, as reported by Ynet. Some say the target was weapons caches sent by Iran to Hizbollah. The more dramatic possibility, however, is that the Israelis took out a nuclear facility that was funded by Iran and supplied by North Korea:
