Sorry folks, I haven’t seen it yet. The bits I did see I’d have to say Palin looked too tense for comfort. And too well rehearsed for the ‘authenticity’ vibe to project. I’m not criticizing. It’s her first. Just sharing my thoughts.
In the meantime Powerline was ok with it.
Instapundit has the links.
Allapundit notes the HUGE lie of Charlie Gibson’s. “Exact Quote” he notes when giving a completely DISTORTED quote of Palin’s in regards to God and Iraq.
That one torques me. People. There is a difference between claiming God is on your side and praying that you are doing God’s will. Sheesh.
Then in the news today, front page Washington Post headline:
Palin Links Iraq to Sept. 11 In Talk to Troops in Alaska
Except she doesn’t. Here’s the quote:
telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would “defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans.”
Palin’s son and his brigade are going to Iraq now. al-Qaeda IS in Iraq now. (though frankly, there are fewer and fewer of them every day) “Al-Qaeda in Iraq” or “Al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia” if you prefer is how they like to be called.
Now maybe the world doesn’t believe al-Qaeda is smart enough/scheming enough/strong enough to pull of 9/11, but I thought the Washington Post did.
Other than that quote above, the rest of the article is about the campaign. Who writes these headlines??

Someone very stupid writes the headlines. And the most stupid of all work for the AP apparently. I am sick of them “ramming their choice for President down our throats” in the words of Powerline.
