The first priority is off the table and veterans got an apology from Janet Napolitano. (is it enough?…hell, it’s not really an apology even, so no.)
Shall we move on to state’s rightists? Or folks who would like to see illegal immigration disappear, or …..
Pretty much any person leaning right deserves an apology out of this one.
Ed Morrissey notes that key Democrat on the House Committee on Homeland Security, Bennie Thompson is astounded by this report.
“As I am certain you agree, freedom of association and freedom of speech are guaranteed to all Americans — whether a person’s beliefs, whatever their political orientation, are ‘extremist’ or not,” Mr. Thompson said………….
[Ed] Thompson didn’t stop there. He wants an explanation of what “activities” Napolitano has planned with law enforcement officials to monitor legitimate public political activity, as promised at the end of the DHS report. He called himself “particularly struck” by this statement. And well he might; it promises to have government treat political discourse as a subversive activity.
UPDATE: Ralph Peters gives his opinion about the DHS piece.

Yeah, but Bush was the one WIRETAPPING, how evil is that compared to “public monitoring”….sounds too much like Hitler’s beginnings to me.
