Yet more unbelievableness

Chris Mathews is all for torture in extreme circumstances. At that point (or rather after the fact) the president should go to the people and ask for immunity.

What Bush did was wrong because he went to the people to get an exemption for extreme circumstances to use methods that are close to torture. He’s evil. He should have just tortured. THEN it would have been ok. ???

Riiiiiight – President Bush would have been better off had he just done what needed to be done, then asked Chris to forgive him. ROFLMAO What a tool.

Read Karl Rove today too. He says it out loud. If Nancy Pelosi believes waterboarding is torture, then she’s an accomplice.

Your tax dollars at work
Scott of the Environmental Republican uncovers the most outrageous use of Federal funds through a grant during the Bush administration. Training Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly. (I’m not clear if that means training them to drink enough to forget, or training them to drink enough to just not clench so hard.)

The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job.

Good question
Miss California has said that no feminists are standing up for her. That’s not quite true as I think she’s been treated unkindly/unfairly and I think it’s silliness to have a gay man judging female beauty. The latest controversy after the Trump quote about her agreeing with Obama is some photos that are not quite “pure”.
As others have done similar photos and that have not been controversial,

Spineless Nancy
The NYTimes thinks Nancy is off the hook because only 4 members of Congress were in on the torture bit and “what could they say?” They didn’t have power, or ways to voice their questions about the whole immorality of what Bush was planning.
They were helpless. Sure, they were told, but

But as a practical matter, there was very little, if anything, the Gang of Four could have done to affect the Bush administration’s decision on the enhanced interrogation techniques program. To stop it, they needed the whole Congress.

No sense making waves even though they just KNEW the government was being evil. Good Lord, Bush didn’t even threaten anyone with loss of a job like Obama does on a daily basis!

Shouldn’t they be ousted just for that?????

Jail Time for Poverty

Apparently in this new world it’s ok to send people to jail for being poor and proud.

A woman did not get dental care for her daughter with a toothache because she didn’t have the money and chose not to ask for it from anyone including the government.

White was in the Manatee County jail on Thursday without bail.

Yes – without bail.

A Miracle

You know miracles are never fair, but they are very very cool. (Seriously – why this guy and not others?? Why is my life so lucky, but not others?? It’s curious and when you see them, it’s awesome.)

Congratulations to Lt. Brian Brennan. Don’t second guess your own miracle, just enjoy it!!

Odd Quote

In regards to credit card reform Gibbs had this to say:

“For many people credit cards provide an opportunity to finance purchases,” Gibbs said. “But we think there’s a more equitable way to do that and I think that those reforms are on their way through Congress.”

Is Obama in his “spread the wealth” philosophy going to making buying stuff “equitable”??

Price/Value

Apparently with the new hope and change we’ve decided to oust the connection between price and value.

Examples? You want examples?
How about making the price of health insurance the same for a man and a woman? (even as woman use health facilities/doctors more often)

How about making the price of a DD bra the same as one for an A? (even as a DD takes more engineering, let alone material?)

Ok – that second example is in the UK where Busts 4 Justice have apparently freed themselves from the constraints of high priced bras. I’m with Amy on this subject. Some items you just need to be worth more and you’re happy to pay!

Typically, I’ll find a bra in a “normal” size with two hooks and less support, and a much more supportive and re-engineered version in larger sizes, with three or four hooks. I’m just glad these bras exist. I’d pay any amount of money for them, and do. And guess what: They last much longer than cheapo bras, as in years and years longer.

As a horseback rider and a jogger, Busts 4 Justice better stay away from the value of bras in the good ol US of A or they’ll have me to answer to!!

War under Obama

We no longer care about all that collateral damage because Obama’s in the house!

Scott notes the cries from the antiwar movement: (post predator strike that killed what they are now saying is 100 civilians)

UPDATE: Look what the Washington Post is admitting:

A U.S. defense official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that “the Taliban went to a concerted effort to make it look like the U.S. airstrikes caused this.”

It wouldn’t be the first time.
