Sadly, the online Longmont paper doesn’t link to this hilarious story – but I’m hear to type out the quotables. Frankly I think they don’t want to find themselves on Drudge.

Organizers: Longmont pot proposal lacks momentum

Essentially there is a group that wants to make pot legal in Longmont.

Here’s what’s happened:

“We had a bunch of petitioners lined up to do this, but when the petitions were published, it was difficult to round them (the petitioners) all up, ” Tiger said. (Longmont resident Paul Tiger)

Longmont resident Kevin Clowers, who is heading up the effort, said volunteers are finding that many people aren’t registered to vote-so they can’t sign the petition – or are leery of signing because they fear they’ll end up on a list and have police watching them.
