The Navy Seals

That Navy Seal story has been under the radar lately what with Tiger Woods and climate-gate out there. But today Gateway Pundit has a link to a page where you can help.

To recap: Navy Seals who captured the leader of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004 are being prosecuted because the guy has complained of a bloody lip.

This link (from Gateway Pundit) is a link to a page where you can voice your opinion and help these Seals.

To file a citizen’s complaint regarding the treatment of these Navy Seals, please call 813-828-4976, or send emails to holly.silkman@soccent.centcom.mil

Surprising Study On Terrorism
Al-Qaida Kills Eight Times More Muslims Than Non-Muslims

I say it must have recently been “peer reviewed” because, didn’t we all know this earlier? Haven’t we known this all along? Isn’t that why there was an “awakening” in Anbar?
Scientists can be slow to get around to the truth….perhaps because they avoid it so well when it doesn’t fit narrative.

Honduras

There you have it. 111 to 14. Congress, Honduras’ Congress has decided that Zelaya is not to be reinstated.

The crisis is over unless you are Zelaya and he needs to determine whether or not its safe to step out of the Brazilian embassy.
The crisis is over unless you are Brazil and aren’t sure what to do with your own government decree that it will not recognize any new president of Honduras from now until forever I suppose since Zelaya did not get to be president again.
The crisis is over unless you just want to prove your leftie bonofides and continue to not know what to do with a tiny little poor country who has said….We will follow our own laws. If you don’t want to recognize us, ….ok. Good luck with that.

LaGringa now requests that Honduras “be allowed” to return to how their own laws of the land work. It’s time for Micheletti to return until its time for Lobo to step up.

The people have spoken. The congressmen elected by the people have spoken (current vote is 74 to 10). We are ready to have our president back. We need Micheletti. He makes us feel safe against the outside forces who continue to menace Honduras.

We need for the US to quit interfering in the sovereign country of Honduras. The Honduran people are tired of the interference, the lack of respect, and the ridiculous demands which you should have been making to Zelaya instead. Basta ya!

Amen.

The Speech

Sorry – I was busy last night and will need to watch the speech sometime today (or do I need to?).

However, I thought you might like a few links:
From Der Spiegel

Never before has a speech by President Barack Obama felt as false as his Tuesday address announcing America’s new strategy for Afghanistan. …….One didn’t have to be a cadet on Tuesday to feel a bit of nausea upon hearing Obama’s speech. It was the least truthful address that he has ever held. He spoke of responsibility, but almost every sentence smelled of party tactics. He demanded sacrifice, but he was unable to say what it was for exactly.

An additional 30,000 US soldiers are to march into Afghanistan — and then they will march right back out again. America is going to war — and from there it will continue ahead to peace. It was the speech of a Nobel War Prize laureate………………The American president doesn’t need any opponents at the moment. He’s already got himself.

From Rich Lowry

Now, no matter what Obama’s inner conflicts, McChrystal gets his chance to regain the initiative in the war. If he succeeds, the domestic politics of the war will begin to look different and at least one cause of Obama’s psychic anguish will be alleviated.
Yes, it would’ve been better if Obama hadn’t sounded at times like a premature Nobel Peace Prize winner shoved uncomfortably into a role of wartime leader. But, as Don Rumsfeld might say, you go to war with the president you have.

(the bold is mine)

From Ralph Peters

Mr. President, how can you send our troops to war without backing them all the way? How could you pull the strategic rug out from under them in advance? Why did you reassure the Taliban that we’ve already fixed a sell-by date? What’s the bloody point?
At West Point last night, President Obama’s delivery was superb. But what he was delivering was a funeral oration for his promised strategy.

It sounded like a horrible speech to me and not a speech made by a strong leader. I was listening to an analysis on the radio and a General Keene (ret) said 3 times, 3 times that it was “decisively decisive”. What the hell??!!
When some retired general has to describe your speech in such a way, I can not imagine that it was a goodun.
Nor can I imagine how surging the troops for 12 months (6 months to arrive) is going to help force the government of Afghanistan to clean up their act so that they can then handle their own country.

Seriously. If you had this information and you were corrupt to start with and governments before you have also always been corrupt and the tribal leaders around you have always been corrupt and frankly that’s just how your country rolls, what about a short term 30,000 troop “surge” directed at others is going to make you want to clean up your act?

We’ll see how it goes, and I continue to pray for our men and women over there along with the Afghans themselves, in particular the women. IF Obama, NATO and the US military can get that country onto it’s own two feet there will be joy here.

Unbelievable

The U.S. State Department says Sunday’s presidential election in Honduras was a significant, but insufficient step, to end to political crisis that began there in June with the ouster of President Manuel Zelaya. U.S. officials are stopping short of recognizing opposition candidate Porfirio Lobo as the country’s next president.

???!!!!!

What does the US State dept want?
“”It must follow a process of national reconciliation through a government of national unity,” um…done. By Micheletti withOUT the cooperation of Zelaya.

What else?
“Valenzuela said the Obama administration seeks implementation of an OAS-backed settlement plan, including the creation of a truth commission on the circumstances of the coup and a congressional vote set for Wednesday on whether Mr. Zelaya will be returned to office to complete his term, which was to end in late-January.”

done also. The vote is happening tomorrow. Zelaya said he won’t return EVEN if congress votes him back in, which they probably won’t as the Supreme Court has said, “don’t do it”.

What the hell else does this government of mine need from Honduras that it isn’t getting???
What the hell reason does it have for NOT recognizing this overwhelming and fair election, yet congratulating Ahmadinejaad and his completely contested election??
How is it possible for Obama the saint to continue to need to stroke the egos of the lefties when he’s the one with all the information and could easily make a solid decision and stick to the damn thing??

There is something seriously fishy going on with our government right now as it affects Honduras.
Honduras…..strap yourselves in because you are being taken for a ride. Do whatever you can to become completely independent. You need to. Venezuela threatens and the US is apparently no longer on your side.

Unbelievable.
