All the quotes on in the blogosphere today are talking about Obama attacking the media again and when with the media quit being his whipping boy and/or “Obama can’t use an Ipod???!”
I’d like to direct your attention to this “professor’s” thoughts.
US President Barack Obama lamented Sunday that in the iPad and Xbox era, information had become a diversion that was imposing new strains on democracy, in his latest critique of modern media.
Too much information for democracy??? Say what? Isn’t that how democracy works best? And it’s all right here at our fingertips.
If anything it’s too much information for his lying self to not get caught in the net.
You know like the publication of Haliburton getting yet another “no bid contract” because now it’s convenient for Mr. Democrat to use them. (ht Scott)
“Odierno said, ‘I’ve got three million pieces of equipment I’ve got to get out of Iraq, I’ve got 100 or so bases to close, I’ve got to move 80,000-plus people out of here and you want me to change horses in the middle of the stream?’” Casey recounted.
The U.S. force in Iraq is scheduled to shrink from 94,000 troops today to 50,000 by August, with a complete withdrawal by December 2011.
The Army, in its statement yesterday, said putting to bid an order for 18 months’ work and making the transition to a new contractor would cost at least $77 million. The KBR work order will be awarded by Aug. 31, said Mike Hutchison, deputy director of Army logistics contracting.
I suppose when Generals had to move forces IN, and in a hurry, it was far more convenient to bid the contract, right???
Sorry dude….information is not the enemy.
If you are on the terrorist watch list, are you most certainly a terrorist?
This story from May last year has the FBI list at 24,000 people and yet it doesn’t include people who are current subjects of investigations.
So let’s say you’re on list.
Should you no longer have the right to free speech?
Should the government be able to overrun your home without a warrant?
Should you no longer have a right to representation or life?
Then what about your right to bear arms?
Dana Milbank questions the NRA’s patriotism because they believe a person should have their constitutional rights until they shouldn’t.
If it’s this easy to take away your constitutional rights, or leave you without citizenship in any country – it’s too easy.
(There is a bill proposed to strip citizenship away from citizens who are involved in terror groups)
What’s the matter with treason?
Citizenship matters and should be taken seriously. If you are a citizen and you join the enemy, that’s treason and you should be hung.
If you are a citizen, you have a right to bear arms until you have destroyed your own rights in that. Being on a list because you have cash, or visited Pakistan doesn’t cut it. IMHO
Go, read the Jawa Report for updates on the Times Square bomber dude.
When you’re a kid, all your stuff just comes to you by magic.
If mom or dad say, no, I don’t have the money, your response is, “Lets just go to the bank then and get some”.
Apparently in Greece, there are a lot of children.
Also in Athens, some 150 members of the armed forces staged a silent parade to protest at having their bonuses cut.
The EU has agreed to provide 80bn euros (£69bn) in funding, while the rest will come from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Yes, the rest of Europe, who is also in trouble, will be funding the strikers to keep them employed while they strike.
I suspect a big part of that is because their government isn’t to be trusted. If your folks lied to you all the time and then said “No, I don’t have the money” would you believe them?
It is soooooo important for governments to be relatively trustworthy. I’m not sure why they never get that.
So I’m imagining President Bush sitting in his library sipping a cup of coffee (black, no sugar). He’s reading the papers and comes across this line from President Obama: (bold is mine)
Obama administration officials say they were on top of the accident from the first day but a declaration of “national significance” – opening the way for greater government involvement – was not made for nine days.
Coffee goes spewing!! Laura!!!! Get in here…..remind me again how the Katrina situation went down?
Wasn’t the Federal Government at the ready just waiting the governor to give the ok for us to take over? Isn’t that how it happened???!!
Yes dear.
Actually – it wouldn’t go down like that. They’re both a whole lot nicer than me. Bush probably gave a gentle chuckle and tipped his head acknowledging that the job is a bigun.
You’re a terrorist.
(jihad/PETA/Irish – doesn’t matter)
You plan, you research, you secretly buy materials, you steal a car, you drop it off in Times Square with hugeass bomb, but if fizzles. Damn.
No problem – the people will be scared!! They’ll see it can happen to them too, not just Israel or Barcelona or….
I’ll check the papers.
People will be crying.
Here’s a quote direct from the NYTimes.
Gabrielle Zecha and Taj Heniser, visiting from Seattle, had tickets to see “Next to Normal” at the Booth Theater on 45th Street but could not get into the 8 p.m. show because the area was blocked off. But they made the best of the spectacle. “It’s a whole different kind of show,” Ms. Heniser said, adding, “It’s almost the equivalent of a $150 show.”
damn.
Why?
Because in spite of fighting the good fight in my brain….and in spite of being a champion of intact families….and in spite of wanting our President to be a good guy……
I want the National Enquirer to be right, dare I say it, again, just to wipe that sanctimonious look off of his face.
