Weiner

I’ve been asked why I haven’t posted on Weiner’s, weiner.
I just hate these stories.

But Glenn Reynolds makes a great point in Three Sources “Quote of the day”:

I think there’s an important point in the comic value [of Weinergate]: The people who think they’re smart enough, and morally superior enough, to run everyone else’s lives are risible. They’re not smart enough to run their own lives competently, and they’re actually, overall, morally inferior — I mean, John Edwards, DSK, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barney Frank, Tax Cheat Tim Geithner, just go down the list ” and mocking them is inherently valuable. They pursue power, and they exercise power, as much for deference as anything else. Deny them that, and make it painful for them whenever possible. That’s my take. — Glenn Reynolds

So here’s my post…..
As Timothy Dalrymple’s “The Battle of the Bulge: Is the Weiner War Worth it” asks, and concludes, “no”, I’ll conclude, yes (but only because other’s made it so easy to link/quote for this lazy blogger!).

Go Mr. Boehner!

Or as Redstate says, call and thank Mr. Boehner personally for his latest tactic.

Or thank Obama for forcing this hand.

What hand?

The one that says the Senate needs the House’s approval to recess for more than 3 days, which is the minimum needed for recess appointments by the executive. Boehner’s house did not approve.

The Senate has blocked several of the more radical nominees, but under the Constitution, President Obama has the power to appoint them during a Congressional recess.

Republican Senators warned Obama not to use his recess powers to appoint Becker to the NLRB. He did it anyhow. Becker didn’t disappoint, leading the NLRB to accuse Boeing of violating workers rights by opening a plant in South Carlolina.

They HAD to do it!

UPDATE: I’m getting there….the link has been finally fixed from the iPad. Whew.

Raising Cain

QOTD “Stupid People are ruining America”

The ones who can’t count!
JK is right, this would be fun.

I heard him answer questions on foreign affairs somewhere….and he said the truth. He didn’t know, but he would figure it out.
