I was going to write that some staff person was going to be in big trouble over this until I read your link that says he had no prepared remarks — so you’re right, he should have remembered!!
Even IF a staff person had written the remarks how could he forget the one person, the one person he gave this distinguished award to who stood in front of him….vs his family.
