They won’t. Instead they “get” the occupiers frustrations.

No, I don’t think 2 allegations of female uncomfortableness in the 90s is enough to put me off of him, but having to listen to awkward sound bites might.

So now it comes down whether or not you believe Cain or anonymous sources sourced anonymously, one of which anonymously refers to gestures “not overtly sexual” as a source of the sexual harassment anonymously being alleged.

Making your choices

I do always wonder about the interviewees in the Occupy movement. The papers mention the amount owed in student loans, but never the major.

Apparently President Obama used a “good” example the other day for his new student loan program.
This dude has been unemployed for a year after graduating in something. The new loan program will help him see his dream come true.
He is going back to school to major in environmental law in order to work at a nonprofit. Estimated cost of the degree? $130,000.
Anyone want to venture a guess as to the average wage of a nonprofit environmental lawyer? Are we being setup for future protests here?

This is outrageous and I’m beginning to get pissed off at the behavior of the left.

A news story? Who on earth said such a thing? No one. Martin Bashir of MSNBC “analyzes” why people like Herman Cain. Good Lord….spend two minutes listening to Cain and you can see why people like him and it has nothing to do with race.

He is likable!

Then go and compare him and his gaffs to the officially noted GOP frontrunner and you can maybe actually analyze the man as if you were a news guy.

Martin Bashir is a dumbass.

Life…..without changes

Try to imagine your life at 18 years old. You maybe are thinking of college….moving out of the house…..getting 4 roommates in a cool apartment…..moving to a trailer on 4 acres in the mtns….becoming a ski bum..having a baby and struggling with food stamps…..working retail at minimum wage….working an assembly line.

Any number of things. Do you also imagine the life will stay that way forever? Of course not.

The object of the game is to improve. Move up. Become management. Get new skills. Marry rich. Get a temporary 2nd job. Etc, etc.

Yet somehow Eugene Robinson imagines that the poor will always remain the same while the rich just keep “stealing from the poor”.

Based on a study showing that over 30 years the poor did 18% better while the rich did 275% better he concludes that the rich are getting richer off of the poor’s money!

My personal conclusion would be that we all generally start at similar poor levels (see first paragraph) and then we work our way out. So if we work our way out and those not in the poor levels are doing 30-275% better aren’t we doing pretty good?

No one “took” any money from me when I was poor. How is it getting taken now? You can’t even blame the government because the poor aren’t paying taxes. He suggests that the rich get rich because of power over the government, thus influencing the government to essentially give them, the rich, more than their fair share. ?

So it does matter that as the pie grows, the various slices do not grow in proportion. We’re not characters in one of those lumbering, interminable, nonsensical Ayn Rand novels.

I have to disagree. The more I pay attention to what is going on out there the more it looks like we are exactly in an Ayn Rand novel. It’s a little frightening.

Yesterday

I lost power. Not from this tree going down but because of other trees.

I lost my computer. Not from this tree, but because the power was down I packed it up to find power and probably crashed the heads in the sleep mode.

I kept my new tree that I planted on Sunday so that was good. 🙂 And it’s really pretty outside!

The Contrasts are Stark

Paul Ryan defines them:

Obama threatens it:

And startup business owners prove it:

If start-up activity is the true engine of job creation in America, one thing is clear: our current educational system is acting as the brakes. Simply put, from kindergarten through undergraduate and grad school, you learn very few skills or attitudes that would ever help you start a business. Skills like sales, networking, creativity and comfort with failure.

No business in America — and therefore no job creation — happens without someone buying something. But most students learn nothing about sales in college; they are more likely to take a course on why sales (and capitalism) are evil.

Think of that. The goal of every family is to send their children to college. Yet college puts the brakes on their ambitions and instead instills in them attitudes of nannystatism and beliefs that a left wing (never a right wing) government is there to be helpful to all.

Civilizations don’t last forever and this one too will be gone if the way of life shared by the Obamaites manages to fully take this country. Luckily no matter how many liberals despise Ayn Rand even drummers don’t like paying more than their fair share.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Sunday the United States will maintain a strong security relationship with Iraq despite the scheduled pullout of all U.S. troops and warned Iran not to try to exploit the situation.

So are we going to do something….or not? Are the Iraqi Kurds, Iraqis…..or not? Is Turkey part of NATO, or allies with Iran? Since NATO, will we cooperate with Iran against Iraq?…or not?
