Weekend Update

So it’s time for lazy blogging – but each of these links is seriously worth the read!
………………
Captain Ed notes that while folks are blaming the war in Iraq for lack of funding to fix bridges, that’s basically a bunch of baloney. Bush increased highway spending and MN could have built 3 bridges for that amount of increase.

…………….
Instapundit follows up on that shooting of the journalist in Oakland – who was investigating a Black Muslim Group. Police have detained 19 people from this groups bakery. (not officially related)

………………………….
In the Arab News Amir Taheri writes of the political situation in Iraq. As politicians vie for position with the thought that the US will leave once Bush is out of office. Nice that they can count on us eh?

……………………………
And finally, read this story out of the LA Times about Matt Drudge. The guy is a legend.

“The dirty little secret about Drudge,” Rosenstiel says, “is that he’s a gateway for conventional journalism.”

Um – that’s been no secret to those of us who use him.
